Summary
Connecticut Medicaid and CHIP will now reimburse substance use disorder (SUD) residential treatment services at free-standing facilities for eligible members aged 13+ starting June 1, 2022. Providers must obtain provisional certification and enroll in CMAP as provider type 63/001, with prior authorization required through Beacon starting July 1, 2022.
Action Required
By May 31, 2022: SUD residential treatment facilities must submit provisional certification documents and acknowledgement forms to enroll in CMAP as provider type 63/001 using taxonomy 324500000X. Starting July 1, 2022: Obtain prior authorization from Beacon for all new CMAP member admissions and document ASAM Level of Care criteria. Complete required training on CMAP enrollment, authorization procedures, and billing procedures. Failure to obtain certification within 24 months will result in disenrollment from CMAP.
