Summary
Connecticut is launching two new state-funded HUSKY programs (State HUSKY A and State HUSKY B) effective January 1, 2023, providing Medicaid and CHIP-equivalent coverage to children ages 0-12 regardless of immigration status. These programs have the same benefits and billing procedures as regular HUSKY A/B but are state-funded for undocumented children.
Action Required
By January 1, 2023: Billing team must verify that eligibility verification system can process State HUSKY A and State HUSKY B enrollees (which will display as 'HUSKY A' and 'HUSKY B' in AEVS). Continue submitting claims electronically to Gainwell Technologies. Front desk staff should advise eligible families to apply through Access Health CT at 1-855-805-4325. For State HUSKY B Band 1 and Band 2 enrollees, collect applicable co-payments as listed on HUSKY B fee schedule since co-payment amounts will be deducted from claim reimbursement.
