Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY) is activating new claim edits requiring all attending providers on institutional claims to be enrolled in the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program. Claims will be denied starting March 1, 2023 if the attending provider is not enrolled or their NPI is missing from the claim.
Action Required
By March 1, 2023: Billing team must verify all attending providers are enrolled in Connecticut Medical Assistance Program using the provider lookup tool at huskyhealthct.org. Update billing workflows to include attending physician NPI in field 76 on UB04 claims for Connecticut Medicaid patients. Enroll any non-enrolled attending providers using the Provider Enrollment Wizard at ctdssmap.com. Claims will be denied without proper attending provider enrollment and NPI submission.
