Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (CMAP) updated their fee schedules and procedure codes for 2023 HCPCS changes effective October 1, 2023, with payment rate changes for status G/K codes already implemented and code changes/deletions going live October 25, 2023. Additionally, 25 DME codes were made payable retroactive to September 1, 2023, and Hepatitis C medications will no longer require prior authorization starting November 1, 2023.
Action Required
By October 25, 2023: Billing team must download the updated CMAP Addendum B V24.2 from www.ctdssmap.com Hospital Modernization page to identify procedure code changes marked with 'G/K' (payment rate changes), 'New' (added codes), or 'X' (code/status changes). Update billing system with new DME codes effective 9/1/2023. By November 1, 2023: Remove prior authorization requirements for Hepatitis C medications in billing workflows. Monitor for claim denials on changed/deleted codes after October 25.
