Summary
Connecticut Medicaid is implementing Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) enforcement for home health claims starting April 1, 2024. Claims without confirmed EVV visits will be denied, and claims exceeding confirmed visit units will receive specific EOB codes.
Action Required
By April 1, 2024: Home health providers must ensure all Medicaid home health claims have confirmed EVV visits recorded in either the State's Sandata system or approved alternate EVV solution. Update billing workflows to verify EVV confirmation before claim submission. Claims without confirmed visits will be denied (EOB codes 3331/3327), and claims exceeding visit units will trigger EOB codes 3332/3328. By June 15, 2024: Providers using Sandata must upgrade to SMC 2.0 mobile application as the old version will no longer be supported after June 30, 2024.
