Summary
Effective February 3, 2025, Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY Health) will cover Wegovy for cardiovascular risk reduction in adults with established heart disease and obesity/overweight. Prior authorization is required for each new prescription and annually thereafter.
Action Required
By February 3, 2025: Billing team must identify Connecticut Medicaid patients receiving Wegovy prescriptions for cardiovascular risk reduction. Providers must complete prior authorization forms available at www.ctdssmap.com under Pharmacy Information tab for each new therapy request and annually thereafter. Claims will be denied without required PA documentation.
