Summary
Connecticut's Medicaid program (HUSKY Health) will now cover doula services for all members effective January 1, 2025. Doulas must be certified by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and enroll as billing providers through the state's enrollment system.
Action Required
Immediately: If practice employs or contracts with doulas, ensure they obtain Connecticut DPH certification and NPI (taxonomy 374J00000X). Doulas must enroll online at www.ctdssmap.com as billing providers. Maintain medical records for 7 years and establish compliant service locations. Note that doula services are now billable to HUSKY Health A, B, C, and D plans in Connecticut.
