Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY Health) is strengthening prior authorization requirements for genetic testing effective July 1, 2025. By July 1, 2025: Update workflows for Connecticut Medicaid genetic testing orders to ensure all prior authorization requests include: (1) fully completed and signed Genetic Testing PA form or Whole Exome/Genome Sequencing PA form, (2) medical records from ordering provider supporting medical necessity with member-specific rationale, and (3) specific test name and exact genes/mutations.
