Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY Health) will begin covering Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) services provided by certified dietitian-nutritionists for specific diagnosis codes, with three new billable procedure codes and reimbursement rates. Action Required
By July 1, 2025: Billing team must add new MNT procedure codes 97802 ($25.61), 97803 ($22.34), and 97804 ($11.73) to billing system for Connecticut Medicaid patients. Ensure certified dietitian-nutritionists are enrolled with CMAP and obtain required referrals from licensed practitioners. Update system to track 3-hour annual limit per member and require diagnosis codes from Table 26. For telemedicine visits, append modifier 95 or GT and use appropriate place of service codes.
