Summary
Effective July 1, 2025, Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY Health) will stop faxing prior authorization requests for additional information and determination letters. All communications will now occur through the Medical Authorization Portal, where providers must check for messages and download determination letters.
Action Required
By July 1, 2025: Billing team and providers must register for the HUSKY Health Medical Authorization Portal if not already done. Complete the Medical Authorization Portal Access Request Form and submit to CHNCT via email or fax. Train staff to check the portal regularly for messages requesting additional information and to download determination letters instead of receiving faxes. Update workflow procedures to use portal messaging for all Connecticut Medicaid prior authorization communications.
