Summary
Connecticut Medicaid will now require all attending physicians on inpatient hospital claims to be enrolled in the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program (CMAP) on the date of service. Claims with unenrolled attending physicians will be denied starting May 1, 2026.
Action Required
By April 30, 2026: Billing team must verify all attending physicians treating inpatient Medicaid patients are enrolled in CMAP. Ensure attending physician NPI is entered in Web claim 'Attending Phys' field, ASC X12 837 I Loop 2310A ID Qualifier 71, or paper UB04 Field 76. Unenrolled providers must complete enrollment at www.ctdssmap.com using Provider Enrollment Wizard. Claims will be denied after May 1, 2026 if attending provider not enrolled.
