Summary

New Jersey Medicaid has added four pharmaceutical manufacturer labeler codes to its approved list: Scott Tussin Pharmaceutical Company Inc, Nephron Pharmaceutical Corporation, Ethex Corporation, and Whitby Pharmaceutical. Billing teams must update their pharmaceutical dispensing systems to recognize and process claims for medications from these newly approved manufacturers without rejection.

Action Required

Action needed
Immediately: Pharmacy billing team must update the pharmaceutical dispensing system and claims submission software to include the four newly added manufacturer labeler codes (Scott Tussin Pharmaceutical Company Inc, Nephron Pharmaceutical Corporation, Ethex Corporation, and Whitby Pharmaceutical) in the approved New Jersey Medicaid pharmacy database. Verify that claims for medications from these manufacturers are no longer rejected during submission. Contact the New Jersey Medicaid program Chief Pharmacy Consultant if implementation questions arise. Failure to update the system may result in claim denials for legitimate prescriptions from these approved manufacturers.
