Summary
The Suburban Essex Medicaid District Office (MDO) in South Orange, New Jersey is closing after June. Effective July 1, all Medicaid inquiries, correspondence, and prior authorization requests for Essex County recipients must be redirected to the Essex-Newark MDO at Halsey Street, Newark. Billing teams must update internal Medicaid office directories and routing procedures immediately.
Action Required
By June 30, 2024: Billing team must (1) Update the Medicaid District Office Directory in the New Jersey Health Services Program Manual Chapter 4 (Administration); (2) Redirect all Essex County Medicaid prior authorization requests, inquiries, and correspondence to Essex-Newark MDO at Halsey Street, Newark (contact phone number on file); (3) Update billing system contact information and office routing rules to route Essex County Medicaid requests to the new location; (4) Notify all providers in the practice of the office change and new submission procedures. File updated directory in your New Jersey Health Services Manual. Failure to update contact information may result in delayed prior authorizations and claim processing delays.
