Summary
Effective July 1, New Jersey Medicaid providers must use only the seven-digit ParamaxUnisys-assigned provider identification number for all claim submissions, prior authorizations, and required attachments. The temporary grace period allowing use of legacy provider numbers from previous fiscal agents has ended.
Action Required
By June 30, 2024: Billing team must verify that all provider identification numbers in the billing system have been updated to the current seven-digit ParamaxUnisys-assigned Medicaid provider ID. Update all billing software configuration, claim submission templates, prior authorization request forms, and attachment submission processes to use ONLY the new provider numbers. Verify each provider's correct ParamaxUnisys number with the Medicaid Fiscal Agent or the NJMMIS portal. Starting July 1, 2024, all New Jersey Medicaid claims, prior authorizations, and attachments submitted using legacy provider numbers will be rejected or denied. Failure to transition will result in claim processing delays and denials.
