Summary
New Jersey Medicaid requires state and county governmental psychiatric hospitals to submit monthly certification statements with billing starting July 2024, and calculate new occupancy levels to determine reimbursement rates. Federal funding is unavailable if certification statements are not submitted timely on a monthly basis.
Action Required
Monthly starting July 2024: State and county governmental psychiatric facilities must submit Provider Certification Statement with each monthly billing to Medicaid fiscal agent Paramax/Unisys. Calculate new occupancy levels using existing methodology. Submit Long Term Care Turnaround Document (TAD) with appropriate levels of care information. Failure to submit certification statements monthly will result in loss of federal funding.
