Summary
New Jersey Medicaid has updated the Maximum Allowable Cost (MAC) drug list with revised Federal Upper Limits of Payment for pharmaceutical services. Providers must replace the previous MAC drug list (Rev 11/93) with the new Rev 12/93 list and insert it as Appendix B in their pharmaceutical services manual.
Action Required
Immediately: Pharmacy billing staff must discard the old MAC Drug List (Rev 11/93) from Newsletter Volume 3, No. 56. Insert the new MAC Drug List (Rev 12/93) as Appendix B in the pharmaceutical services manual when received from the Division. Update billing system with new reimbursement limits for MAC drugs to ensure proper claim processing.
