Summary

New Jersey Medicaid has added 12 pharmaceutical manufacturers to its rebate program (now reimbursable) and removed 7 manufacturers (no longer reimbursable as of the effective date). Billing teams must verify drug manufacturer participation before submitting claims to avoid denials for non-participating manufacturers.

Action Required

Action needed
Immediately: Billing team must update pharmacy verification procedures to cross-reference all drug claims against the NEW JERSEY MEDICAID REBATE PROGRAM MANUFACTURER LIST. For ADDED manufacturers (Marsam Pharmaceuticals, Rystan Company, USApothecary, Leader Brand Products, Gallipot, DSC Laboratories, Allied Med, King Pharmaceuticals, Horizon Pharmaceuticals, Flemming Pharmaceuticals, Welgen A, Yorpharm), verify these drugs are NOW ELIGIBLE for reimbursement. For DELETED manufacturers (Freeda Vitamins, Advanced Nutritional Technology, New York Blood Center, Wilcole Pharmaceuticals, ADH Health Products, Finally Natural Care Corporation, Primus Pharmaceuticals), STOP reimbursement claims immediately—drugs from these manufacturers will be DENIED. Update billing software filtering rules to flag claims from deleted manufacturers for rejection before submission. Contact New Jersey Medicaid programs Chief Pharmaceutical Services with questions. Retain this newsletter for reference. Failure to implement these changes will result in claim denials for non-participating manufacturers.
