Action Required
By October 15, 2025: Billing team must access each of the 12 updated policies on CareSource.com (Providers > Tools & Resources > Provider Policies > Select Ohio Medicaid plan) and review full policy text for specific code changes, coverage criteria, and prior authorization requirements. Compare revised policies against archived versions to identify differences. Update billing software, encounter forms, and clinical workflows accordingly. Identify which departments (anesthesia, wound care, pediatrics, psychiatry, oral surgery, nursing facilities, nutrition services) are affected by each policy. Document required prior authorizations, new coding guidelines (PY-1677), and EPSDT benefit changes (AD-1602) in internal compliance training by November 1, 2025 effective date. Failure to implement changes by the effective date may result in claim denials or payment delays.
