Summary
New Jersey Medicaid has added HCPCS procedure codes for prosthetic and orthotic services to their fee schedule, effective retroactively to January 1, 1996. Providers must update their Prosthetics and Orthotic Services Manual (Chapter 3) with the new codes and their Maximum Fee Allowances from the attached supplement.
Action Required
Providers of prosthetic and orthotic services in New Jersey must immediately obtain the supplement to Subchapter 3 (attached to Newsletter Vol. 7 No. 27) and integrate the new HCPCS codes and Maximum Fee Allowances into their Prosthetics and Orthotic Services Manual Chapter 3. Update billing systems and fee schedules to reflect the new codes. Retain this newsletter in the policy manual behind the blue "5" tab (Newsletter section).
