FQHCs can appeal overpayment determinations within 30 days to delay collection, but must file formal appeals within 180 days.
Action Required
Within 30 days of receiving Notification of Final Settlement: FQHC billing teams must review cost report settlement notifications and prepare for automatic overpayment recovery through Medicaid claims processing system. If disputing overpayment amounts, file fully documented appeal with specific items of disagreement and supporting documentation to Director, Administrative and Financial Services, DMAHS within 30 days to delay collection. Formal appeals must be filed within 180 days or overpayment recovery will proceed.
