Action Required
By April 1, 1999: Billing team must update pharmacy billing systems to reflect manufacturer labeler code changes. (1) ADD the following labeler codes to approved list: 00096, 50580, 52604, 61442, 62174, 63402, 63459, 63789, 63807, 64116, 64455. (2) DELETE the following labeler codes from approved list: 00591, 25077, 39769, 59747, 57610 - claims for drugs from these manufacturers will be denied. (3) UPDATE labeler code 59095 in system from "Athena Neurosciences, Inc." to "Elan Pharmaceuticals, Inc." to ensure proper reimbursement routing. (4) Train pharmacy and billing staff to reject or resubmit claims for drugs from deleted manufacturers. Pharmacy providers must verify drug manufacturer labeler codes on all NJ Medicaid and NJ KidCare prescriptions before dispensing. Failure to update systems will result in claim denials for affected drugs and potential contract violations.
