Summary
New Jersey Medicaid is transitioning to UB92 Version 5.0 for electronic claims submission. Testing begins June 1, 1999, with mandatory implementation by April 1, 2000 when all previous UB82 and UB92 Version 4 formats will be discontinued.
Action Required
By June 1, 1999: Contact Unisys Provider Services at 800-776-6334 to request UB92 Version 5.0 specifications and begin testing electronic claim files for inpatient, outpatient, and home health claims. By July 1, 1999: Begin testing charity care claims. By April 1, 2000: Complete transition to UB92 Version 5.0 as all previous electronic formats (UB82 and UB92 Version 4) will no longer be accepted, resulting in claim rejections.
