Summary
Two pharmaceutical manufacturers (Sanofi-Synthelabo and Rising Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) have been added to the New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) Drug Rebate Program. Providers must update their pharmacy systems to recognize these new labeler codes (00955 and 64980) for proper claim processing and drug coverage verification under PAAD.
Action Required
By November 3, 1999: Pharmacy billing staff should update their PAAD drug formulary and pharmacy management systems to recognize manufacturer labeler codes 00955 (Sanofi-Synthelabo, effective 09/30/99) and 64980 (Rising Pharmaceuticals, Inc., effective 10/28/99). Verify that claims for drugs from these manufacturers are properly routed through the PAAD Drug Rebate Program. Note that PAAD and Medicaid drug rebate programs are separate—verify individual drug coverage under each program separately.
