Summary
This is a Year 2000 (Y2K) readiness notification from New Jersey Medicaid (NJMMIS) informing providers that the state's systems are Y2K compliant and urging providers to ensure their own systems are ready. The policy includes a revised year-end payment schedule for December 1999/January 2000 to minimize Y2K risks, requiring claims to be submitted by December 28, 1999 (electronic) or December 29, 1999 (paper) to be included in the January 5, 2000 payment.
Action Required
By December 28, 1999 (electronic claims) or December 29, 1999 (paper claims): Billing team should submit all outstanding claims to NJMMIS to ensure processing in the January 5, 2000 payment cycle to minimize cash flow disruption. Providers should contact their software vendors or claim submitters to verify Y2K compliance of their systems and equipment. Pharmacy providers should participate in Y2K claim submission testing with Unisys. All providers should develop their own Y2K contingency plans. No action will be required after the year 2000 transition is complete.
