Summary

New Jersey Medicaid and NJ KidCare fee-for-service programs have delisted two pharmaceutical manufacturers (Komax Pharmaceuticals and Care Technologies, Inc.) from their drug rebate programs. Effective immediately, drugs manufactured by these companies will no longer be reimbursed by these programs.

Action needed
By January 1, 2000: Billing team must update pharmacy billing system to deny/reject reimbursement claims for any drugs with Manufacturer Labeler Code 62431 (Komax Pharmaceuticals) effective 10/01/99 and Labeler Code 62653 (Care Technologies, Inc.) effective 01/01/00 when billed to NJ Medicaid or NJ KidCare fee-for-service plans. Pharmacy staff must verify manufacturer codes before dispensing to these plan members and notify patients of coverage denial.
