Summary
New Jersey Medicaid and NJ KidCare fee-for-service programs are adding six new pharmaceutical manufacturers to their drug rebate program and terminating coverage for six existing manufacturers effective January 1, 2000. Drugs from terminated manufacturers will no longer be reimbursed by these programs.
Action Required
By January 1, 2000: Billing team must update pharmacy billing system to reflect manufacturer labeler code changes. ADDITIONS (now covered): Labeler codes 59746 (Trigen Laboratories), 63824 (Adams Laboratories), 64019 (Cebert Pharmaceuticals), 64836 (Women's Capital Corporation), 64894 (Bone Care International), 65224 (Zyber Pharmaceuticals). TERMINATIONS (no longer covered): Labeler codes 61423 (Consolidated Pharmaceuticals), 64356 (York-Koller), 00274 (Scherer Laboratories), 00353 (American Pharmaceuticals), 11441 (York Pharmaceuticals), 53723 (Innercare). Pharmacy staff must verify manufacturer labeler codes on all prescriptions for NJ Medicaid/NJ KidCare patients before dispensing. Claims for terminated manufacturers will be denied by Medicaid. Note: PAAD Drug Rebate program coverage differs from Medicaid/NJ KidCare—verify program participation separately.
