Immediately: Accounting and billing teams must verify whether your hospital has any outstanding statutory debts to the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services under the Health Care Facilities Planning Act. If debts exist, coordinate with finance and administration to: (1) Review all DSH and Medicaid/NJ KidCare beneficiary care payment remittances for offsets applied by DHS/DMAHS; (2) Reconcile reduced payments against outstanding debt balances; (3) Implement tracking procedures to monitor offset amounts in billing system; (4) Notify revenue cycle leadership of potential payment reductions.
