Summary

Billing teams must discard the outdated November 1999 notice and post the new revised version in a visible location for beneficiaries. This program allows First Health Services to review medications for potential interactions or duplications across multiple physicians or pharmacies without directing treatment decisions.

Immediately: Pharmacy service providers in New Jersey must locate and DISCARD the old Medical Exception Process beneficiary notice from Newsletter Volume 9, No. 67 (dated November 1999). POST the new revised notice in a convenient, visible location accessible to all beneficiaries. File this newsletter (Volume 10, No. 25) numerically behind the Newsletter Tab (Blue Tab marked '5') for records retention. No billing system updates required. This is a notification and signage requirement only.
