Summary
New Jersey Medicaid is replacing Level III HCPCS codes W9099 and W9099 52 for Hepatitis B vaccine (adults 19+) with new Level I codes 90746 and 90746 52. The new codes are effective January 1, 2000, and the old codes will no longer be reimbursed after July 1, 2000.
Action Required
Before July 1, 2000: Billing team must update system to use code 90746 ($63.57) instead of W9099 for Hepatitis B vaccine (adults 19+) and code 90746 52 ($2.50) instead of W9099 52. Update encounter forms and staff training. Claims using old W9099 codes will not be reimbursed after July 1, 2000.
