Summary
The New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) program has added two new pharmaceutical manufacturers to its Drug Rebate Program: Ligand Pharmaceuticals (labeler code 64365, effective 04/13/00) and Womens Capital Corporation (labeler code 64836, effective 03/15/00). Providers must recognize these new labeler codes when processing PAAD pharmacy claims, as coverage may differ between Medicaid and PAAD programs based on manufacturer participation.
Action Required
By May 2000: Pharmacy billing staff should update internal records and claim submission systems to recognize labeler codes 64365 (Ligand Pharmaceuticals) and 64836 (Womens Capital Corporation) as participating PAAD manufacturers. Note that coverage rules may differ from Medicaid; verify individual drug coverage under PAAD before billing. No immediate workflow changes required, but staff should be aware that drugs from these manufacturers may now be covered under PAAD when previously they were not.
