Summary
Work First New Jersey/General Assistance (WFNJ/GA) beneficiaries with HIV/AIDS must now enroll in the AIDS Drug Distribution Program (ADDP) for antiretroviral medications. WFNJ/GA will no longer cover certain HIV/AIDS drugs, which will be covered through ADDP instead.
Action Required
By July 1, 2000: Pharmacy billing staff must identify WFNJ/GA beneficiaries with HIV/AIDS diagnoses and ensure they enroll in ADDP. Update billing procedures to submit claims for HIV/AIDS drugs using the patient's ADDP eligibility number through the POS system when Error Code 402 appears. Maintain strict patient confidentiality regarding HIV/AIDS diagnoses in compliance with N.J.S.A. 26:5C-5.
