Summary
The New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) program has added BD Prefill (Labeler Code 08290) to its manufacturers' rebate program effective August 31, 2000. Providers must recognize this manufacturer code for PAAD drug rebate eligibility and understand that PAAD coverage may differ from Medicaid coverage based on manufacturer participation in their respective rebate programs.
Action Required
By September 30, 2000: Pharmacy staff should update internal manufacturer reference lists to include BD Prefill (Labeler Code 08290) for PAAD claims processing. Verify that pharmacy billing system recognizes this labeler code for proper PAAD rebate program identification. Note that this change only affects New Jersey PAAD beneficiaries and does not impact Medicaid drug coverage, which operates under a separate rebate program.
