Summary
New Jersey Medicaid is temporarily expanding historical access to Medicaid eligibility data (REVS/MEVS systems) from the standard 12-month lookback to include data dating back to January 1, 2000. This expanded access period is limited to February 2, 2001 through April 30, 2001, to help hospitals retroactively identify Medicaid-eligible days for Medicare DSH (Disproportionate Share Hospital) claiming. After April 30, 2001, access reverts to the standard 12-month rolling window.
Action Required
By February 2, 2001: Hospital billing teams should immediately begin accessing REVS or MEVS systems to retrieve Medicaid eligibility data for the extended historical period (January 1, 2000 through request date). All hospitals that have not yet initiated Medicaid eligibility data collection should prioritize this retrieval during the temporary access window. Finance/compliance staff must ensure all historical Medicaid-eligible days are captured and documented for Medicare DSH claim adjustments. By April 30, 2001: Complete all historical data retrieval before the expanded access window closes. After May 1, 2001, access will revert to the standard 12-month rolling period.
