Summary
New Jersey's Children's System of Care Initiative requires JCAHO accredited residential treatment centers to switch from turnaround documents to HCFA 1500 claim forms with specific HCPCS codes for mental health rehabilitation services. Claims must now be submitted directly to DMAHS through Unisys instead of DYFS.

For claims dated January 1, 2001 and after: Billing teams at JCAHO accredited residential treatment centers in New Jersey must stop using turnaround documents and switch to HCFA 1500 claim forms with appropriate Y-code HCPCS codes (Y9947-Y9952 depending on facility type). Submit claims directly to DMAHS through Unisys fiscal agent instead of DYFS. Include ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes on all claims.
