Summary

New Jersey Medicaid has applied a 3.5% Social Security cost of living adjustment (COLA) effective January 1, 2001, which automatically recalculated patient payment amounts for long-term care facilities. Facilities must review the COLA UPDATE REPORT and update patient payment amounts on billing documents if the difference is $1.00 or more.

Action Required

Action needed
Review the enclosed COLA UPDATE REPORT comparing NET INC BEFORE and NET INC AFTER columns to current patient payment amounts on Long Term Care Turn Around Documents (MCNH-117) Block #35. If difference is $1.00 or more: update patient payment amount on TAD form and submit to Unisys, then inform CBOSS or Medicaid ISS office that new PR-1 needs completion. If difference is less than $1.00: only update TAD form, do not contact CBOSS/ISS office.
