Summary

New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare drug rebate programs are adding two new pharmaceutical manufacturers to their approved list (PTS Labs, LLC and PBM Pharmaceuticals, Inc.), reinstating one manufacturer (Bioglan Pharma, Inc.), and deleting two manufacturers (NutraMax Products, Inc. and Dawn Wholesale Pharmaceuticals, Inc.). Drugs from deleted manufacturers will no longer be reimbursed effective January 1, 2002.

By January 1, 2002: Billing team must update pharmacy billing system to remove coverage for drugs manufactured by labeler codes 38206 (NutraMax Products, Inc.) and 58865 (Dawn Wholesale Pharmaceuticals, Inc.). Configure system to reject or flag claims for these manufacturers as non-covered. Add these deletions to pharmacy formulary documentation. Verify that labeler code 62436 (Bioglan Pharma, Inc.) is reinstated in the system. Notify pharmacy staff and providers that claims for NutraMax and Dawn Wholesale products submitted after January 1, 2002 will be denied by Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service programs. Update internal drug rebate program records to reflect additions of labeler codes 65005 and 66213 (retroactive to September and August 2001 respectively).
