Summary
Children enrolled in both Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare and the Children's System of Care Initiative (CSOCI) will receive two separate identification cards - their regular Medicaid card and a blue CSOCI card for mental health services. Providers must contact the child's Care Management Organization (CMO) before rendering any mental health services to CSOCI-enrolled children and ensure all services are part of an approved Individual Service Plan (ISP).
Action Required
Immediately: Staff must verify CSOCI enrollment by calling REVS at 1-800-676-6562 or using MEVS when patients present blue CSOCI cards. Contact the child's CMO before providing any mental health services to confirm services are authorized and part of an approved ISP. Update front desk procedures to recognize that CSOCI cards (blue, 12-digit numbers) are only for mental health services - patients must still present regular Medicaid cards for all other services. Claims without CMO authorization may not be reimbursed.
