Summary

New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare have added eight pharmaceutical manufacturer labeler codes to their drug rebate programs, effective between October 2001 and December 2001. Billing teams must ensure pharmacy claims for products from these manufacturers (GlaxoSmithKline, Medisca Inc., ZLB Bioplasma Inc., Medical Merchandising Inc., Link Pharmaceutical, and OraPharma) are processed under the correct rebate program parameters.

Action Required

Action needed
By end of current billing cycle: Pharmacy billing team must verify that claims for products manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline (labeler codes 00214, 10158, 11530, 74684), Medisca Inc. (38779), ZLB Bioplasma Inc. (44206), Medical Merchandising Inc. (63913), Link Pharmaceutical (65772), and OraPharma (65976) are submitted under the NJ Medicaid or NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service drug rebate program as applicable. Confirm billing system recognizes these manufacturer labeler codes. Note: PAAD Drug Rebate and Senior Gold Discount Prescription programs have different coverage parameters—do not confuse programs when processing claims. Retain this newsletter in filing system per instructions.
