Summary
3M Pharmaceuticals (Labeler Code 55298) has been added to the New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) Drug Rebate Program, effective January 24, 2002. Providers must recognize that PAAD, Medicaid, and Senior Gold programs have different drug coverage based on manufacturer participation in their respective rebate programs.
Action Required
By February 2002: Billing and pharmacy teams should update internal reference materials to note that 3M Pharmaceuticals products are now eligible for PAAD coverage. When processing PAAD claims, verify drug manufacturer participation in the PAAD rebate program, as coverage differs from Medicaid and Senior Gold programs. No immediate system changes required unless your practice uses automated pharmacy benefit management software that requires manual manufacturer code updates.
