REQUIREMENTS:
1. IMMEDIATE (upon receipt): Billing team must obtain and review the complete manufacturer labeler code lists for both additions (effective 01/24/2002 - 02/05/2002) and deletions (effective 04/01/2002). Contact Pharmaceutical Services at (609) 588-2724 or Unisys Provider Services at (800) 776-6334 to obtain full APPENDIX F documentation.
2. By March 31, 2002: Update pharmacy billing system and claims submission software to remove the following manufacturer labeler codes from reimbursable drug lists: 00263, 00524, 00662, 00663, 59012, 00761, 10337, 11414, 52891, 11793, 54162, 58174, 58948, 70030, 71114 (manufacturers: Integra Lifesciences, Knoll Pharmaceutical, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Group, Basic Drugs Inc., Bradley Pharmaceuticals, Baker Norton Pharmaceuticals, Aventis Pasteur, Geritrex Corporation, Baker Cummins Dermatologicals, L. Perrigo Company, and Circa Pharmaceuticals).
3. Immediately: Add new manufacturer labeler codes 55298 (3M Pharmaceuticals), 64406 (IDEC Pharmaceuticals), 65893 (Cody Laboratories), 66203 (Organon Sanofi-Synthelabo), 66530 (Spear Dermatology Products), and 66813 (Athlon Pharmaceuticals) to reimbursable manufacturer lists in billing system.
4. Before April 1, 2002: Notify prescribing providers of deleted manufacturers so they can adjust prescribing patterns. Update formulary lists and internal documentation.
5. On/After April 1, 2002: All claims for drugs from deleted manufacturers will be denied by NJ Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service programs. No reimbursement will be processed.
