Action Required

Action needed
By July 1, 2002: Billing team must update pharmacy billing system to reject claims for drugs manufactured by Superior Pharmaceutical Company (00144), Summers Laboratories, Inc. (11086), and MED-TEK Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (52349) under NJ Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service programs. Update drug formulary lists to reflect added manufacturers (Gilbert Laboratories, Bradley Pharmaceuticals, Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Scientific Laboratories, Xcel Pharmaceuticals, SDA Laboratories, Xanodyne Pharmacal, Rare Disease Therapeutics, and Regent Labs) with their respective effective dates. Remove deleted manufacturers from approved drug lists. Note that PAAD Drug Rebate and Senior Gold Prescription Discount programs have separate coverage rules—verify individual program participation before billing. Failure to implement these changes will result in claim denials for non-covered manufacturers.
