Summary
New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare added six pharmaceutical manufacturers to their Drug Rebate Program's Manufacturers' Labeler Code List, effective between June and July 2002. Pharmacy providers must recognize these new labeler codes (66500, 66663, 66689, 66992, 67197, 67211) when billing for covered drug products from these manufacturers.
Action Required
By October 2002: Pharmacy providers and billing staff should update internal manufacturer reference materials and billing system configurations to recognize the six new Manufacturers' Labeler Codes (66500 Novavax Inc., 66663 Pharmelle LLC, 66689 VistaPharm Inc., 66992 Wraser Pharmaceuticals, 67197 For Ever Young Products Inc., 67211 Pharmion Corporation). Verify that pharmacy management systems correctly process claims for these manufacturers under NJ Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare programs. Note that coverage may differ between Medicaid fee-for-service, PAAD Drug Rebate, and Senior Gold Prescription Discount programs. Retain this newsletter for reference.
