Summary
New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) program added two manufacturers to its Drug Rebate Program: Stiefel Laboratories/Glades Pharmaceuticals (effective 02/20/03) and Prasco Laboratories (effective 03/03/03). Billing teams must ensure these manufacturers' drugs are processed correctly under PAAD coverage rules, which cover only legend drugs, diabetic testing supplies, and insulin.
Action Required
By March 3, 2003: Pharmacy billing staff must update internal manufacturer rebate lists and billing system configurations to recognize Labeler Codes 00145 (Stiefel Laboratories/Glades Pharmaceuticals) and 66993 (Prasco Laboratories) as participating PAAD manufacturers. Verify that prescriptions from these manufacturers are routed to PAAD coverage verification and not rejected as non-participating. No action needed for Medicaid or Senior Gold programs, as those maintain separate manufacturer lists.
