Summary
New Jersey Medicaid will reimburse Community Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation (AMHR) services but prohibits billing for certain overlapping services on the same date. Mental Health PCA services and PACT services cannot be billed alongside Community AMHR services for the same beneficiary on the same day.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to prevent duplicate billing for Mental Health PCA services and PACT services when Community AMHR services are provided on the same date for the same Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare beneficiary. Physical PCA services and mental health case management services can still be billed separately if program requirements are met.
