Summary
New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare have added 6 new pharmaceutical manufacturers to their drug rebate program (effective March-April 2003) and will delete 12 manufacturers effective July 1, 2003. Drugs from deleted manufacturers will no longer be reimbursed by these programs.
Action Required
By July 1, 2003: Billing team must identify all patients on New Jersey Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare using drugs from deleted manufacturers (Leader, Guy & O'Neill, NexStar, Sequus, American Pharmaceutical Partners, Miza, Vitaline, Pharmacists Choice, American Generics, Link Pharmaceutical). Work with prescribers to switch patients to covered alternatives before July 1st to avoid claim denials for non-covered drugs.
