Summary
The New Jersey PAAD (Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled) program has added Amarin Pharmaceuticals (Labeler Code 65234) to its Drug Rebate Program effective June 2, 2003. Providers must recognize this manufacturer code when billing PAAD claims for covered legend drugs, diabetic testing supplies, and insulin to ensure proper claim processing and rebate application.
Action Required
By June 2, 2003: Pharmacy billing team must update dispensing and billing systems to recognize Amarin Pharmaceuticals (Labeler Code 65234) as an eligible manufacturer in the PAAD Drug Rebate Program. Verify that pharmacy software correctly applies rebates to Amarin legend drugs, diabetic testing supplies, and insulin products. No action needed if already processing PAAD claims through current rebate system. Note: This policy is from June 2003 and may be superseded by more recent PAAD guidance; verify current manufacturer participation list with NJ Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services at (609) 588-2724 before implementation.
