Summary

New Jersey Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare has replaced its DME recycling contractor from InterHealth LLC to Global Medical Equipment Recycling, Inc., effective December 1, 2003. Medical suppliers must now contact the new contractor to check equipment availability before requesting DME purchases, and the MACC will coordinate directly with the new contractor for prior authorization cases.

Action Required

Action needed
By December 1, 2003: Billing and medical supply teams must update all DME ordering workflows to contact Global Medical Equipment Recycling, Inc. (1-866-795-4333 or 609-272-9178 fax) instead of InterHealth LLC to verify recyclable equipment availability BEFORE submitting purchase requests for non-PA DME. For DME requiring prior authorization, no action needed—MACCs will coordinate directly with the new contractor. Remove all InterHealth LLC contact information from internal systems, supplier lists, and staff reference materials. Ensure all staff ordering recyclable DME are trained on the new contractor details. Failure to check availability with the correct contractor may delay claim processing and equipment fulfillment.
