Summary
New Jersey is temporarily suspending higher rebate requirements for generic drug manufacturers in the Medicaid fee-for-service, PAAD, and Senior Gold programs due to inventory concerns. The current list of manufacturers who participated prior to July 2003 remains in effect. Pharmacists will receive at least 60 days' notice of any significant formulary changes.
Action Required
Immediately: Pharmacy staff should retain this newsletter in their policy files (filed numerically behind the Blue Tab marked '5'). No billing system changes are required at this time. Ensure current manufacturer rebate agreements remain active per the pre-July 2003 participant list. Monitor for future formulary notices with 60-day advance warning.
