Action Required
By April 1, 2004: Billing team must update billing system to replace discontinued NJ local codes (X-codes) with specified national HCPCS codes where replacements exist, and completely stop billing codes with no replacement. Update encounter forms and train staff on new code mappings. Claims submitted with old X-codes after April 1st will be rejected by NJ Medicaid.
