Summary
New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare will no longer accept three local procedure codes (Z1831, Z1832, Z1833) effective April 1, 2004. These codes are being completely deleted with no replacement codes available.
Action Required
This is a historical policy from 2004 and should not impact current billing operations. If your system still contains these obsolete New Jersey local codes (Z1831, Z1832, Z1833), remove them from billing software and encounter forms as they have been invalid for nearly 20 years.
